IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY
At Boston Trust & Investment Management Company (Boston Trust) one of our most important responsibilities to you, our customer, is the safekeeping of the nonpublic personal (“confidential”) information you have entrusted to us and the use of this information in a responsible manner. We are providing you with this important notice to inform you of how Boston Trust uses and works to protect your confidential information. This notice applies to customers who have opened an account or obtained a financial service from us for personal, family or household purposes. It also applies to former customers, and to consumers who have provided confidential information to us but have not entered into a customer relationship with Boston Trust. We encourage you to read and retain this notice for your personal reference.
PROTECTING YOUR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

We value your trust and handle information about you with care. We strive to safeguard, according to prudent security standards, the confidentiality of all nonpublic personal information you provide to us. Our employees are bound by a code of ethics and other policies requiring confidential treatment of customer information. We maintain prudent physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal guidelines and that are reasonably designed to protect confidential information from unauthorized access or use.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT TO CONDUCT OUR BUSINESS

We limit the collection, use and retention of confidential information to what we believe is necessary or appropriate to manage and service your account(s) more efficiently, to better understand your needs, to provide you with other products and services that may be of interest or benefit to you, or that you request and authorize, and to meet regulatory requirements. This includes account information, such as investment account balance and investment purchase and sale history, and other information necessary to complete transactions or to provide services requested or authorized by you, such as your fax number, your e-mail address, etc.

SHARING INFORMATION OUTSIDE OF BOSTON TRUST

Please be assured that we will not share your confidential information with any company or third party outside Boston Trust, except as required or permitted by law, and according to prudent security procedures. This means, for example, that we may disclose your confidential information:

  • To our service providers to help us service your accounts. Examples of service providers include trust accounting and tax service providers, insurers, and attorneys
  • To respond to a subpoena or court order, judicial process, regulatory authorities or law enforcement agencies
  • To our federal and state regulators and external auditors
  • To protect against or prevent fraud and to manage risk
  • To a third party to whom you specifically authorize us to share the information

We require our vendors by contract to maintain the confidentiality of and safeguard the information we provide to them.

This privacy policy supersedes all previously issued Boston Trust privacy policies and other confidentiality and information sharing disclosures. 

We encourage you to help us protect your information and to keep it accurate. Do not disclose your social security number or your account number(s) to anyone unless that person is known by you and has a need to know. Contact us should you feel that someone has gained inappropriate access to your account(s). Boston Trust reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. We will post such changes on the web site in a timely manner, however, specific notification of such changes will not necessarily be made.

SECURITY PROCEDURES TO PROTECT CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
A fundamental element of safeguarding your confidential information is to provide protection against unauthorized access or use of this information. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal guidelines to guard your nonpublic personal information against unauthorized access or use. Our employees are subject to a corporate code of ethics and other policies that require maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.

Boston Trust will continue to enhance and maintain prudent security standards and procedures to protect against unauthorized access or use of your nonpublic personal information and records. These security procedures also protect former clients for as long as the information is retained.

Anytime you visit this website, we may collect and store the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, AOL.com.) We may use such information to measure the number of visitors to the site, however, we will not sell or share this information with any third party.

Any message that you send to us over the Internet via e-mail will not be encrypted and consequently, possibly could be intercepted or altered by a third party. USA PATRIOT ACT DISCLOSURE
Federal laws and regulations require us to request information from both individual and institutional clients prior to opening an account or adding a signatory or authorized representative to an account. The information we request may vary depending on the circumstances, but at a minimum, will include name, street address, an identification number such as social security or taxpayer identification number, and for individuals, their date of birth.

We are also required to verify the information you provide to us. This verification process may require you to provide us with supporting documentation such as a driver’s license or organization documents. We may also seek to verify the information by other means such as name and address records in national databases. We reserve the right to request additional information and/or signatures from you from time to time.
